Ada Cheng|Chief Executive Officer

Ada Cheng is a qualified Social Worker and holds a Master degree in Community Management. Ada has over 20 years of experience in Aged Care Management and has a proven track record in service planning and development, managing Australian Federal and State-funded community and residential aged care service contracts. Ada has a keen passion in developing culturally appropriate aged services which has led to the successful implementation of a range of invaluable services and resources applied to cross-cultural care.

Ada joined ANHF in 2005 as a strategic planner and currently serves as CEO of ANHF. She has overseen the organisation’s vast growth and has implemented a full spectrum of community and residential services. Under Ada’s leadership, the ANHF Aged Services portfolio along with its revenue have tripled over the past several years, attributed to Ada’s vision and innovative mindset which have resulted in cutting edge outcomes for culturally competent aged services in Sydney. The need for quality Dementia Care has been identified as the top priority in ANHF’s strategic planning and ever since, Ada has ensured innovative programs are being delivered to the highest standard.

Ada has been engaged in many high profile international conferences discussing care on dementia, long-term care and cultural competency from Hong Kong, Beijing and Japan.

Johnny Teong|General Manager, Corporate Services

Over the past 35 years, Johnny Teong has held senior regional and national roles in finance and corporate administration in multinational corporations, small to medium enterprises and not-for-profit organisations in the aged care industry. He brings to ANHF experience and best practices gained from employment and non-executive Board membership in other aged-care providers e.g. BaptistCare and Wesley Mission.

Johnny is responsible for the corporate services which provide specialised professional and technical support to enable our residential and community care staff to focus on the delivery of quality care. The areas of support relate to financial and business management, human resource management, Community Visitors Scheme, volunteers and development, information technology, communications and media, purchasing, property maintenance, compliance and risk management.

Johnny holds an MBA and is a Fellow of CPA Australia, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Chartered Secretary and an Associate of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Maisy Lai|General Manager, Residential Care

Maisy Lai is a highly recognised registered nurse with over 24 years of extensive experience in the aged care sector. Most notably, she has worked as a Director of Nursing for 10 years in various aged care facilities and studied in Gerontology as her expertise.

Throughout her career, Maisy has continued to pursue educational opportunities in consolidating her management and clinical skills, understanding the aged care industrial change and work health safety. As a demonstration of the achievements, Maisy has been awarded a Top 10 Manager Award consecutively in 2010 and 2011, and successfully commissioned a new nursing home during her previous employment at Uniting Care.

Maisy is responsible for the day to day operations of all residential homes managed by the Australian Nursing Home Foundation. She ensures that the care and services delivered by the residential homes meet the Aged Care Regulations and Standards. Maisy is a passionate believer of the person centered care approach, and is keen to maintain a high quality of care towards residents by focusing on the importance of their individual needs and wants.

James Lim|General Manager, Community Care Services

James Lim holds a degree in psychology, graduate certificate in social administration from the University of New South Wales and executive master of public administration (ANZSOG) from the University of Sydney.

James uses his clinical, social and public administration knowledge and experience in his leadership and guidance to his teams through various organisational changes and government reforms in the disability, community care and the aged care industry.  He is empathic and engages well in his work and with stakeholders.  James has strong focus to deliver innovative change and quality improvement that matters most for people who are vulnerable, frail and marginally disadvantaged.

Over the last 30 years, James has worked extensively in public service and in not for profit organisations specialising in day program services, multidisciplinary teams, establishing innovative community accommodation models, supported living, home and community care operations, strategic management, enterprise risk management and program governance.

James is responsible for Home Care Services, Seniors Wellness Centres, Community Housing, and CALD brokerage services.  He has particular interest in change management, better practice, multidisciplinary approach, integration of quality management processes and systems to enhance personalised care and customer service. He has been awarded Cisco System Prize in 2012. He guided and inspired his community teams to achieve two prestigious Better Practice Awards from the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency in 2016. He also presented as a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator in Canada on complex needs in 2009.
